Chinatown retains some aspects of the Chinese way of life. Many of the buildings house beautiful decorative motifs, giving a view of Chinese religion and the unique history and lifestyle. The real Chinatown lies down the busy numerous smaller side streets. Many of these are full of shops selling all types of quality goods, hence a paradise for shoppers. Stalls are everywhere as you will find all sorts of products at very attractive prices. Yes you can negotiate just as you can with the vendors on Silom Road. Speaking of vendors on Silom Road, you will recognize almost all of the items here in Chinatown but at a much lower price. |

At night, it is always a delight to visit the Yaowarat district. When getting dark, this lively Chinese community becomes the largest Chinese restaurant in Bangkok, serving a variety of food until well past midnight.
